As I write this, we are under quarantine for covid-19. In our home, my husband and I are working full time from home and schooling our four children simultaneously. The last few weeks have been full of unique experiences! (I am sure this is true for you too!)
This past February, I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation with no revisions! I am incredibly thankful that I was able to have that experience in person before this quarantine hit us. I follow a page called #DoctoralMomLife and keep seeing posts of moms who have defended their dissertation virtually via Zoom or similar platform. The experience of defending a dissertation with a room full of people watching you is something you could never forget. Again, I will say how incredibly thankful I am to have had that opportunity in person. I also got to meet with my committee chairperson one last time in person, which I appreciated. Dr. Petrie is an amazing example of a transformational leader and I have learned from him every time we have met.
So what's next??
There are so many options swirling in my head right now, all possibilities. It's thrilling to feel like what I thought was going to be my biggest accomplishment (becoming a doctor!) was merely the opening of doors for my next adventure. As I work through the "what's next" phase, I plan on using this blog as a window into my research and where I am going with it. I am thrilled you are following on this journey with me!
